On 14-02-2021, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Thiru. Narendra Modi inaugurated the passenger services in the Phase-I Extension of CMRL Project from Washermanpet to Wimco Nagar for a distance of 9.05 km at a total cost of Rs. 3770 crores at Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The event was presided over by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. Edappadi K. Palaniswami, in the presence of Hon’ble Governor of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. Banwarilal Purohit, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Thiru. O. Paneerselvam, Hon’ble Speaker Thiru. P. Dhanabal and Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Thiru. M.C. Sampath.
